Nehemiah

Description
“Then I arose in the night, I and a few men with me. And I told no one what my God had put into my heart to do for Jerusalem.” (Nehemiah 2:12a) Discerning God’s calling for your life can sometimes feel as difficult as trying to reconstruct something that’s been shattered into a million pieces; just ask Nehemiah. Amid the smoldering ashes and crumbling stones of Jerusalem’s wall, he wept bitterly. But Nehemiah didn’t stop there: He prayed and listened to the God he knew to be faithful and steadfast. And what did God put on Nehemiah’s heart? A vision that would ultimately result not just in the rebuilding of a city wall, but in the rebuilding of God’s very people. God didn’t stop speaking in the days of Nehemiah. His Spirit is just as eager to speak to us today. So with open eyes and listening ears, we can be ready to discover what God is putting on our own hearts.
