Waging war against our Idols- finding the roots of addiction and how we fight them together. If you are like most men, the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life (the three original sins according to Pastor Joby Martin) tend to take hold of us. Whether it be addictions to adult content (like p*rn), power, anger, control or other areas, Idols get in the way of what it means to be a follower of Christ. Through this 5 week course, we will go through passages throughout scripture (Jeremiah 17, James 4, John 1-2) along with a sermon study by Pastor Brad Bigney that not only addresses how we identify our idols, but with God’s help, wage war against them. Note- due to the intensive nature of topics discussed in this class, we will limit it to no more than five men.
